Hello! I’m Liv! Thank you so much for joining me on this little corner of the world wide web. If you’re reading this right now, you probably already know me a little bit. Whether you met me at a bridal show, have been following my Instagram, or peeking at my website portfolio, I think it’s time we had a prim and proper introduction!

Let’s start things off with some fun facts (because who doesn’t love some fun facts??)

1. I’m number five in a family of six girls. Yep, that’s right. Six girls. This is basically my family (except I’m Ariel and my youngest sister can fight me on that one).
2. My dream has been to be a full time photographer ever since my 12th birthday when I got a neon green point n’ shoot. Trust me, my photography skills have gotten a loooot better since then.
3. I’m trying to visit every National Park! So far I’ve been to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Joshua Tree, Mount Rainer, and Olympic National Park to name a few.
4. My husband and I were high school sweethearts so I am a big fan of love stories over here.

 

How I got started in professional photography…

 

Like I mentioned, the photography bug bit me when I was real young. After five years of photographing everything I could and checking out countless photography books from the library, I started Liv int he Moment Photography when I was seventeen. Without trying to age myself over here…that was almost ten years ago! Since 2010, I’ve worked non-stop on my business and my craft, completed my bachelor’s degree in communications, and worked a 9-5 for nearly five years as a project manager for an automotive contracting company.

 

 

Why does all that matter?

 

All this to say, I’ve been in the photography business for a quite a while now and have a lot of outside experience that allows me to create a really unique experience for my clients. I firmly believe that my background in entrepreneurship and communications is what makes me such a good business owner. Likewise, my background in project management is how I have the skills needed to make a stellar wedding timeline and make sure everything goes smoothly when it comes to your priceless photos. Nowadays, I do photography as my full time job and I couldn’t be happier. My favorite thing will always be photographing couples in a way that is uniquely authentic to who they are.

 

 

Okay, enough of all that boring stuff!

 

Hearing about my work history might be a littttle bit boring (important, but dry) so let’s finish it off with some of the things I love most!

• My clients. The people I get to meet and work with are hands down, 1000% absolutely the best part of my job. Getting to share your special moments with you is such an honor, and I feel so privileged whenever my clients invite me to capture important moments in their lives. While my clients and I don’t usually know each other beforehand, we always leave the photo shoot as friends.
• The Mitten State. I’m a Michigan girl, born and raised! I’m originally from a long dirt road in Oakland County, but now my husband and I live a bit closer to Detroit. I absolutely love my state and my city. If you ever need park, coffee, or food recommendations let me know! I almost always have a good place in mind (or if I don’t, I’ll just text one of my gajillion sisters and one of them definitely will.)
• Dancing barefoot. If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ve probably seen a lot of dancing pics at this point. Usually on a rooftop. Usually at golden hour. I love dancing and I think it is such a great way to get adorable, treasurable candids on a shoot.
• My husband, Matthew. ‘Nuff said.
