Micro weddings are so memorable in such an intimately magical way. Whether having a micro wedding has always been your dream or extenuating circumstances are causing you to go this route, I put together this micro wedding bride guide so you can start envisioning your perfect day.
My personal favorite type of micro wedding, and one that is highly conducive to the smaller-crowd and limited venues available for Summer 2020, is a chic-eclectic-backyard vibe. All you really need is a yard, chairs, some flowers, a cake, a photographer, and most importantly…a groom! Regardless of how small (or large!) your wedding is, you will still end up with precious memories and timeless, cry-worthy photos.
I love the slight bohemian, yet elegant aesthetic of the photos above. Not only is extremely sentimental, romantic, and “Pinterest-worthy”, a backyard micro wedding is also super convenient if you want to eventually throw a larger wedding/reception at a later date.
Here are a few great vendors that can provide the short list of must haves for your backyard ceremony and reception:
As a former project manager and long time wedding photographer, there is nothing I love more than a wedding timeline. Since micro weddings tend to be a bit more casual and relaxed than a larger wedding, timelines are often dismissed as unnecessary. But just because your wedding is smaller does not mean a timeline isn’t needed! To make sure you get all of your dream photos and have time for everything on the itinerary, a micro wedding timeline is so important for your stress levels and happiness. Check out the sample timeline below:
Your love story and micro wedding is uniquely you. That’s why I believe your timeline should be absolutely unique, too. Every bride I work with receives a fully customized timeline!

As always, I would love to talk through any thoughts, concerns, or dreams you have regarding your wedding whether they big or small.
