Waterfront Chicago – Engagement Session

As I’m sure you can tell just from the photos below, this is one contagiously in love couple. Geena and Mitch go together better than Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt. Her laugh is so infectious, he is the perfect fiancé, and I had so much fun with them.

Originally Michiganders themselves, Mitch and Geena relocated to Chicago for Mitch’s work and Geena’s education. When they found me on the Knot, I was so happy that we were able to shoot these waterfront Chicago engagement photos. It was such a blast to shoot in a new city.

While you know I am a Detroit girl through and through, Chicago is such an amazing for a change of pace. New sights, new sounds, new hidden spots. Geena and Mitch are the best clients ever and recommended to me some of their favorite streets and locations. I love it when clients are willing to incorporate their own special places, preferences, and personalities into the shoot. When you see their own personalities shining through, it makes the thought of their photos being passed down for generations much more special.

Regardless of the fact that I accidentally positioned Geena over a subway grate which caused a totally Marilyn Monroe moment, our Uber driver telling us we were going to be kidnapped, and the terribly cold weather, the shoot was so much fun. (Besides, all those little factors make the day more memorable, right?) Geena and Mitch are so laid back, joyful, and friendly. I’m so happy I was able to get to know them.

Congratulations to these two lovebirds! I cannot wait to see how their happily ever after turns out.
