Rainy Romance, Stoney Creek Metro Park – Engagement Session

It rained. And it rained a lot. On the day of their scheduled shoot, I texted Matt and Olivia to see if they wanted to reschedule. They decided to risk the rain, so I packed up my umbrellas and we all headed out to Stoney Creek Metro Park.

 

I’m so thankful they chose to stick with their session time because the photos turned out so unique and beautiful. I know it’s just a photoshoot, and I’m about to get way too deep up in here, but I so so love that they decided to keep their session date regardless of the weather. It is such a sweet metaphor for their relationship. Rain or shine, you show up for your spouse. Even if it’s overcast and sprinkling, you just grab your umbrella and keep on loving each other.

Olivia had her hair professionally done for the shoot and I was so worried that the rain would ruin it! Olivia was totally unbothered though. As a result, her and Matt’s photos turned out so effortlessly romantic. Right at the end of the shoot, the clouds parted, and the sun came shining through. They put on their favorite song and danced in the sunlight. It was magical and so uniquely them.

Also, I feel like I need to call attention to the fact that Matt and Olivia are my couple name twin! I’ve never had a couple twin before! I’m so happy that it’s these two because they are so amazing. We first met several months ago when Matt emailed my Matt to see if I could photograph his proposal to Olivia! Confusing, I know. I said yes to the photographing, the other Olivia said yes to the marrying, and soon I’ll be photographing their wedding, too.

 

Matt and Olivia, congratulations on your engagement and thank you so much for letting me photograph you every step of the way. I hope you never stop smiling through the rain.
