When I walked into the rehearsal dinner for a wedding I was shooting last year, two of the first things I noticed were Jacquline’s heart-warming smile and Griff’s kind presence. Jacquline was a killer maid of honor. She has the type of cheerfulness and organizational skills that every bride needs by their side. Griff was the calmest guy in the room and is so easy to talk to. Both of them were such a welcoming presence and I knew right away that they were a perfect match.
Let’s just say I have good intuition when it comes to perfect matches. Within 6 months I was shooting their engagement session and this October they will be getting married! I am so excited and honored to be able to document this amazing part of their lives.
You would never guess that these engagement photos were taken in the middle of a dreary Michigan winter. The best part about the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum is that they are green and beautiful at any time of year. Cacti, palm trees, ponds, miles of trails, ivy walls, beautiful brick backdrops, the possibilities are endless inside of this greenhouse.
Unfortunately, we were not the only ones to seek out the gorgeousness of the gardens. On the day of their engagement shoot we were met by a school bus of children, weekend visitors, and an actual wedding taking place! Thankfully, Jacquline and Griff are troopers and trusted me to the make the space work. With some creative shooting, other fancy photographer skills, and a patient and happy couple we captured these beautiful desert vibe photos that showcase all the love that will only continue to grow.
I am so looking forward to their upcoming wedding and cannot wait to see where life takes them. Congratulations Jacquline and Griff!
