Dallas Texas Anniversary Session

Chloe and I became best friends back in middle school and we have always been partners in crime. We did everything together. Summer sleep-away camp, high school, birthday parties, swing dancing classes, Cedar Point trips, mission trips, you name it. Then, we grew up and headed off to college. Chloe went to college in Pennsylvania and met a boy named Luke. It was a perfect match. A few years of college later and they got married on the sunniest, happiest June day.

Four years and many moves later, Chloe and Luke celebrated their wedding anniversary with this dreamy, big-sky, Texas shoot. I couldn’t be happier for them. You know those people who every time you see them together your heart gets extra warm? Luke and Chloe are those people for me. He is constantly making her laugh and they take such good care of each other. This shoot was extra sentimental for me since I was a bridesmaid in their wedding! Little Liv and little Chlo would never have imagined this Dallas Texas anniversary session when they became best friends back in third grade.

When I was visualizing Chloe and Luke’s Dallas photoshoot, I wanted it to be symbolic of this chapter in their marriage. Chloe and Luke have moved so many times in their last four years from California, to Russia, to Michigan, and all over. Since they currently live in Texas, I wanted to capture this moment in time for them. I wanted it to have some Texas flair…without having them wear cowboy boots! The first thing that came to mind was that big, wide open, Texas sky.

After some Google Earth searching, a few mishaps, a creepy abandoned greenhouse, and a completely flooded road, we found this perfect little spot! The field was a bit soggy due to all the recent rain, but that didn’t stop Chloe and Luke from dancing, laughing, and twirling. If you think about it, that’s kind of how marriage can be at times. Sometimes there’s storm clouds and soggy fields, but that never stops you from loving each other fiercely and dancing right through the hardships.
